LIMA, Peru - The Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) has predicted that Peru will receive ten million tourists by 2020, potentially making the Peruvian hospitality market one of the top tourist destinations in South America.
According to AH&LA, the number of hotels in the country will increase to 25,000 eight years from now, including 1,000 five-star hotels.
"These figures or estimates are comparable with the situation in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, which is the objective of Peru in 2020," said Jaime Mesia, managing director for Latin America, Spain, and Portugal at AH&LA.
